Day 1: I will meet you upon arrival at Nairobi Airport and drive to your hotel in Nairobi so you may rest for the night.
Day 2: We’ll spend a relaxing day in Nairobi to unwind and overcome the jet lag. After breakfast, we’ll take a short drive to visit Daphne Sheldricks Elephant Baby Orphanage. We’ll lunch at a popular restaurant and then visit the Giraffe Center to feed and learn about giraffes before retiring for the day. Other options to explore include: the Karen Blixen Museum or the Nairobi Natural History Museum – one of the best in all of Africa, or the Boyz Town Children Orphanage. The evening offers many fine restaurant choices within Nairobi.
Day 3: After breakfast, travel south of Nairobi to Tsavo West National Park, through Boabab tree country. We arrive in time for lunch which you can follow by a short rest or swim in the pool. The afternoon brings the excitement of the first animals and beautiful bird life Kenya has to offer.
Day 4: Begins with a morning game drive to Mzima Springs, a natural underground water spring that derives from Mt. Kilimanjaro. Here we will take a leisurely walk around the springs to view animals and the beautiful surrounding. We return for lunch and go out again in the late afternoon for another game drive. We will return to the lodge for dinner and cocktails while we watch animals come to drink from the natural water hole by the lodge.
Day 5: We drive to Amboseli National Park, at the foot of the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. Our game drive today takes us in search of the elephant herds. In the late afternoon the clouds clear away, providing stunning views and memorable photo opportunities of Mt. “Kili”.
Day 6: We get up at the crack of dawn to leave for an early morning game drive. You won’t want to miss the sunrise & Mt Kilimanjaro in morning light
We return late morning for a big breakfast and the rest of the morning is at your leisure. Another late game drive this afternoon brings more surprises.
Day 7: Today we travel to‘Tree Hotel’ at Aberdare/Mt.Kenya National Park. A water hole where animals come to drink can be viewed from the comfort of your room.
Day 8: We drive north, cross the Equator to a beautiful part of Kenya - The Samburu Game Reserve. A must see on your Kenya Safari, offers spellbinding scenery and differing species of animals not to be found anywhere else in Kenya. Overnight either in a luxury tented camp or a lodge by the river.
Day 9: A very early morning begins our exciting game drive through The Samburu Game Reserve followed by a good rest so we can go out again in the late afternoon.
Day 10: This will be a very educational and interesting day as our visit takes us into the heart of the Samburu. The proud and colorful Samburu Tribe still live in their age old traditional and beautiful culture which has not changed with the times. The people are most welcoming, friendly and warm - inviting us to live, work, and play alongside them for the day as we learn of their culture.
Day 11: Onward to our next destination – Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary Ranch. Enroute are opportunities for shopping and souvenirs of unparalleled quality, including wood carvings and African batiks. Following a short rest we’re off to see the Chimpanzee Sanctuary and ‘Morani’ the famous (and friendly) Rhino. Evening will offer a rare chance to see nocturnal animals on a night time game drive accompanied by lodge rangers.
Day 12: The next exciting adventure awaits us at Lake Nakuru Park - one of the gems of any Kenya Safari. It is best known for the thousands of flamingoes and colorful bird life.
Day 13: A drive around Lake Nakuru will fill your senses with beauty and wildlife you will never forget. Many films and documentaries are photographed at this beautiful lake.
Day 14: We arrive at the magical Masai Mara Game Reserve - a highlight of every Kenya Safari. We arrive before sunset after a long, interesting drive. We’ll stay within the midst of this beautiful panoramic setting for a few nights.
Day 15: An early start in the Masai Mara offers the best opportunity to see animals at their most active. The Masai Mara Game Reserve is an unforgettable destination and definitely one of the best. This Reserve has the highest animal concentrations and is famous for lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, and many more exotic and thrilling animals.
Day 16: A extensive morning game drive shows us hippos, crocodiles and other wildlife that thrive in the river. Following a short rest, we’ll go out again to see more exciting activities in the Masai Mara, an extension of the Serengeti, and home to the natural migration of millions of wildebeests.
An optional hot air balloon ride may be available at sunrise.
Day 17 : Depart after breakfast for a final drive to Nairobi. (Alternatively, arrangements can be made for a short flight to Nairobi on a small chartered aircraft). A day room can be provided in Nairobi so you can relax, freshen up, enjoy a rest and have time to pack before your flight home.
This evening you will be escorted to Nairobi International Airport where we will wish you KWAHERI – a warm goodbye!!!
